HOW TO GET A COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE IN WASHINGTON

Motorists need to obtain a commercial drivers license in Washington if they tend to operate a commercial motor vehicle on public roads. An application process for CDL credential is performed through the Washington Department of Licensing (WA DOL). Prior to getting a commercial drivers license in Washington, applicants need to satisfy certain requirements. The CDL license requirements mandate applicants to be older than 18 years of age and to hold a valid WA driver’s license, to have no disqualifications for a lifetime, to be eligible to reinstate a suspended, revoked, disqualifies, removed or surrendered license, and to have no out-of-state CDL license transferred to WA.

After satisfying the above-mentioned requirements for a CDL license, motorists may begin the application procedure. At first, they need to visit a nearby driver licensing office which enables applicants to take the written knowledge exam. When visiting the location to apply for a CDL drivers license, drivers must submit their current licenses, proofs of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency and their social security numbers (SSN). In addition to the required documents, motorists may have to self-certify the type of operation they are going to conduct by providing a mandatory medical documentation. After applicants pass the written knowledge test, they will obtain a commercial license permit (CLP).
